무궁화 꽃 이 피었 습니다 (Mugunghwa kkoci pieot seumnida)~ Have you watched Squid Game? Fat Cat is such a big fan of the show! So we decided to bake Squid game cookies based on the pink guards in the show. These slice-and-bake cookies are crispy on the edges, soft inside and full of chocolate flavour as we used dark cocoa powder. Bonus: learn how to make dalgona honeycomb candy using microwave oven and see if you can trace the shape out without breaking it. Watch the video till the end to see if Fat Cat succeeds! Hope you enjoy these two recipes.
Things to note:
1. Do not over-mix the dough. Stop when you don’t see any flour.
2. Place the black dough in the freezer and the pink dough in the fridge, and then place the wrapped dough in the freezer.
3. I didn’t make the black dough very round and the pink dough consistent in thickness. If you prefer, you may like to make the black dough rounder and the thickness of the pink dough even for a standardised look.
4. Do ensure the width of the pink dough is enough to wrap the entire black dough.
5. Be careful when handling the sugar after placing it in the microwave oven. It is very hot and be careful not to scald your hands!
6. Mix in the baking soda quickly and immediately place the mixture onto the parchment paper. You have to do so before it hardens.
7. There are some bubbles on the dalgona honeycomb candy, could have done better! Oops!

Squid Game cookies:
110g unsalted butter (room temperature)
70g icing sugar
A pinch of salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 egg yolks (room temperature)
200g cake flour
10g dark/ black cocoa powder
A few drops of pink food colouring
50g white chocolate
Honeycomb candy:
2 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons water
A pinch of baking soda
